Hello Blog!

Hey guys,

So here it is! The Regent Park Focus blog! The Dundas streetcar is a mess right now, so let this be your most direct route to the projects, happenings, socio-melodramas and all of the excitement that you're going to want to be a part of this summer here at 600 Dundas.

Okay, so here's the scoop:

Recently the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (yes, the CBC) has requested episodes of RPTV o be aired starting this Saturday, May 19th 2007 at 11:32am on a program called The Outlet Yes that's right...This means that you to can learn the art of producing your own videos and become rich and famous like all of us! The Regent Park Focus video program runs every Thursday so get over here and register, like, today!

Is the Globe and Mail a little too national for you? Is the Toronto Star too megacityish? Want something you can relate too..more local but with a view of the big picture? Well you read the rest now join the best. Catch da Flava magazine is yours for the taking. Catch da Flava is a youth magazine produced by young people right here in the community. If you open up the front cover of the mag you will notice in the column on the left hand side that CDF has a circulation of 6,000 copies, which is distributed throughout 85 community sites in Toronto. There might be more copies of this magazine in Toronto than there are youth summer jobs sponsored by the federal government. Get your name in it by stopping by on Tuesdays for the editorial meetings. If you like to take pictures, if you write poems, if you like to complain about your street, or if you think your street is better than everyone else's, say it 6,000 times in less than 1000 words; but get over here and hand it in, like, today!

Catch da Flava on 88.1 FM still happens every Tuesday. Like the magazine and the video program anyone can get involved and we want all of you. The show starts at 7:30 pm (seven-thirty pee-em), so if you show up by 7:00, you're more than welcome to join our discussion. If you have any ideas for show topics, or if there's something that you'd really like to discuss on the air with the rest of Flava radio crew, you should leave us a comment on this blog.

There you have it. And there's more where that came from.
We've included a friendly picture.

See you guys soon,
AJ
